The poorest cities can be indicated due to a number of factors, data or comparisons. One of them is the tax revenue per capita index, the so-called G indicator. It shows the real financial possibilities of local governments.

As Radio ZET explains, from The G index depends on how much the city can spend on education, social assistance or infrastructure development. Low income means limited opportunities to improve the quality of life of residents and local development.

The G index is the sum of tax revenues divided by the number of inhabitants. It is not just a number – it is information about the financial condition of the local government.
PLN 1,008.96 per person. This is the poorest city in Poland
The summary published by the Ministry of Finance, which is based on the amount of tax revenues per year per capita, shows that the poorest city in Poland is Boguszów-Gorce. In this Lower Silesian city it is only PLN 1,008.96 per person.
Boguszów-Gorce once developed thanks to mines. After the political transformation, the city lost its main sources of income, and unemployment and the decline of industry deepened the crisis. Today it is a symbol of the problems of many small towns after the closure of workplaces.

For comparison, in the richest Kleszczów, the G index exceeds 32,000. zloty. The poorest cities, such as Boguszów-Gorce, have very limited budgets, which translates into smaller investments and difficulties in providing public services.
