Unique finds at the construction site of the Surikov Center, including objects from the Neolithic site and the life of the first Krasnoyarsk residents, will soon replenish the museum’s funds. The press service reports this
Excavations at the sites “Stoyanka Kachinskaya” and “Cultural layer of Krasnoyarsk XVIII – beginning. XX centuries.” were held in spring and summer. During the work, two historical layers were found: one dates back to the Neolithic and Bronze Ages, the second to the period of Russian development of Siberia (XVIII – early XX centuries).
Now scientists are preparing the collection for delivery to the museum. Among the most striking finds are a stone scraper from the Neolithic era, a glass vessel with the mark “Partnership Brokar and Co. in Moscow” and a cab driver’s badge from 1913. The collection will also include a fragment of a molded ceramic vessel with an ornament, a pendant with the image of St. Demetrius of Rostov and fragments of pectoral crosses.
