Stavropol meat producer won a case against Krasnoyarsk residents who created a company clone website

The manufacturer of poultry meat and other products “Stavropol Broiler” (owner of the brands “Group of Agricultural Enterprises RESURS”, “Blagoyar”, “URUSSA”) filed a lawsuit against three Krasnoyarsk residents. They created a website with an address that was very similar to the company's official website.
As established, the defendants almost completely copied the page. They duplicated the design, product range and used the company's trademarks, which, according to the plaintiff, misled consumers.
The court prohibited the defendants from using the Stavropol Broiler trademarks, including in the domain name. They were also obliged to transfer the right to administer the domain to the brand owner free of charge within five days after the decision came into force.
The decision has not yet entered into legal force and can be appealed.
