Barbara Nowacka, Minister of Education, took part in the inauguration of the ZBADAI educational project, which took place at the Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw.

The digital revolution is already happening. The key question is how to use artificial intelligence wisely – noted the head of the Ministry of National Education.

She informed that 16,000 schools will operate in Poland under the Digital Student program. AI and STEM (natural sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics) studios. – Hardware itself is not everything, which is why the ZBADAI program was created, which will prepare people to use artificial intelligence wisely – she added.

She added that thanks to the materials prepared as part of the project, teachers and students from all over Poland will benefit from the program.

ZBADAI is an innovative educational project that combines research methods with artificial intelligence tools. Its purpose is to help teachers feel confident in the world of artificial intelligence, arouse their curiosity and transfer it to students. It gives you the opportunity to experiment, ask questions and independently seek answers in the world of new technologies. Develops digital competences, cognitive curiosity and critical thinking.

The project will include a moderated five-week AI course for teachers on the Integrated Educational Platform (ZPE).. It will include five thematic modules, including: the basics of artificial intelligence, prompt engineering, multimedia analysis and creation, and practical applications in teaching. Ethical and legal issues will also be discussed. An additional module will be examples of the use of AI at school: lesson plans created together with teachers during workshops. The course is available free of charge to teachers from all over Poland after signing up for a selected training cycle.

In addition to the training program, participants will carry out research projects. 100 primary and 100 secondary schools will take part in the projects. Each facility will have a team of two teachers and a minimum of 15 students – for one semester they will work together on the project, in direct cooperation with scientists and experts from the Copernicus Science Center.

Four interdisciplinary research projects will be prepared for primary and secondary schools to choose from. The proposed issues cover both the areas of natural and exact sciences, as well as the humanities. Projects can be implemented at school or in the field and adapted to the realities of everyday school work.

Each team participating in ZBADAI will select one project that is consistent with the interests of teachers and students. During their work, teams will use artificial intelligence as a tool to support the research process, including: to formulate research questions and hypotheses, search and process information, analyze and visualize data, as well as prepare reports and present results.

The ZBADAI educational project is an undertaking of the Copernicus Science Center co-financed by the Minister of Education. (PAP)
