A furniture manufacturer accused of fraud appeared in court in Krasnoyarsk. This was reported by the press service of the regional police.
During the investigation, it was established that the accused, who installed furniture, was contacted by customers from February to May 2024 based on recommendations. Previously he fulfilled the orders of their neighbors, and information about him was also placed in an advertisement by one of the bloggers.
By agreement man went to customers’ homes, took measurements, drew up a design project and called the final amount. If the cliente satisfied, the accused took an advance payment of at least 50% of the order cost, I didn't intend to do it though.
“For some time the man communicated with the victims and promised that the work would be completed on time, then postponed the production time, and then stopped communicating altogether. Three people were recognized as victims in the case. The total damage amounted to 420 thousand rubles,” – clarified by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region.
A criminal case was opened against the attacker under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”. The Sovetsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk sentenced the accused to forced labor for 1 year 6 months with a deduction of 10% from wages to the state income. Also, according to the court decision, one victim was compensated for the damage in full, and the other two – partially.
