According to him, the aggressor country of the Russian Federation practically hits Ukrainian ports with missiles and drones every day, trying to destroy logistics, complicate exports and undermine the food security of the world.
“Over the past year, the intensity of attacks on port infrastructure has increased significantly. For example: 90 combined attacks were recorded in 2025. For comparison, this is twice as much as in the same period last year,” Kuleba wrote.
He noted that in the Odessa region alone, since the beginning of the year, almost 800 air alerts have been sounded, and their total duration is more than 30 days.
“In such conditions, the presence of shelters directly on the territory of the ports is of fundamental importance. After all, they allow workers to quickly move to safe places, this is especially important in the event of shelling by ballistic missiles that arrive within a few minutes,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
As Kuleba said, more than 50 mobile structures have already been installed in all ports of the Odessa and Nikolaev regions to protect people.
In addition, there are already more than 30 permanent shelters in Ukrainian seaports, and their number is increasing, he added.
“We are working separately on strengthening the protection of the ports themselves. Every day we work on this together with the military. For security reasons, we do not disclose details, but we are carrying out systematic work with the military defense forces in cooperation with other services and international partners,” Kuleba said.
Despite Russian terror, Ukrainian ports are operating, and logistics are provided by sea, the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
