Two children, 12 and 14 years old, found dead in a pool of water in Vaslui, after the ice broke. They were part of a caroling group

Two children, a 12-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, were found dead on Saturday evening in the Tăcuta reservoir, from Protopopești, Vaslui county, after the ice they were crossing broke, according to information provided by the Vaslui Emergency Situations Inspectorate and quoted by News.ro.

The call to 112 was made around 5:35 p.m., and teams from the Vaslui Detachment intervened on the scene, with a search-and-rescue vehicle, an inflatable boat, a mobile intensive care team and an extrication team, and ten soldiers were mobilized.

The local authorities stated that the two children would have been part of a group of carolers who tried to cross the accumulation of water on the ice, at which point it broke.

The police contacted the children's parents, who stated that they had not seen the two since 15.15.

Around 18.40, the intervention teams pulled the bodies of the two children out of the water, both of them being declared dead. From the first information, it appears that the victims were brothers.
