

Trump noted that there is now a “good chance” of reaching an agreement, although he stressed that any Zelensky peace plan would only come into force after US approval.
The head of the White House called the negotiations difficult, but expressed confidence that the meeting with Zelensky could be productive. He also said he hoped for a constructive conversation with illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin, adding that he was ready to discuss issues with him.
“I think they [украинцы] now they want to do it, and I think Russia wants it too. But every time one wants it, the other doesn’t,” Trump said.
The head of the Ukrainian state said that he wants to discuss with the American leader this weekend, in particular, security guarantees for Ukraine and “all issues on which there are disagreements.” Meanwhile, Trump announced a likely conversation with Putin “soon.”
