The owner of the Sokołów brand is preparing a “major transformation”. 800 people will lose their jobs

The Danish company wants to improve its position on the global food market, including: by simplifying the structure and “bringing together” the companies operating within the group. The idea is to “be similar” to other companies operating in this industry. The restructuring is expected to increase the company's efficiency by DKK 500 million (approx. EUR 66 million) over the next two to three years.

“We need to fundamentally standardize Danish Crown to make us more like other international companies in our industry. Currently, our business units operate largely as independent companies. We are changing this by bringing our businesses closer together. We need to operate as one, fully integrated group across business areas and countries,” emphasizes Niels Ulrich Duedahl, group president, in a statement on the company's website.
The restructuring of the food giant is intended to simplify the administrative structure, which will result in the need to lay off 800 people in the next two to three years. This will primarily affect management and white-collar workersas the group's central functions will be consolidated within the business units. There are to be fewer levels of management and fewer employees.

Currently, Danish Crown consists of seven units, including the Polish Sokołów, known for producing cold meats eagerly purchased by Poles. “The changes to employment will be rolled out gradually across countries and business units, with local consultations starting in early June.” – the company informs in a statement. He emphasizes that competition on the global food market is currently fierce, and the company's owners are facing difficult times due to, among others, on the price level.
