The Italian football club AS Roma has officially started the construction of a new stadium. It is planned to have 56,000 seats, and the investment will amount to 1.3 billion euros.

“AS Roma is pleased to announce the submission of the Technical-Economic Feasibility Study (PFTE) for the new stadium, a crucial step that brings the club closer to the realization of one of the most ambitious and modern sports projects in Europe,” the club's statement reads.

The project, which precedes the final design phase, is the result of detailed work with a special focus on technical precision, sustainability and a clear vision: to offer the city of Rome and the fans a facility worthy of their history, passion and future.

The new stadium will be built in Rome's Pietralata district, in the eastern part of the city.

“The importance of the project, its scale, the modernity of the stadium, the potential urban impact and the estimated deadline allowed the Pietralata stadium to be included among the possible locations for hosting the matches of the European Championship in 2032.

AS Roma continues to work with the same passion, responsibility and ambition: the future of our house is getting closer”, said the club's representatives, according to sportal.rs.

Those from AS Roma are hoping for the title this season. It would be the first after a 25-year drought. The “Gialorossii” are ranked 4th in Serie A, with 30 points, 3 behind the leader Inter Milan, coached by Cristi Chivu.
