The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, sent a message of solidarity towards Ukraine, in the context of the attacks launched by the Russian forces on Kiev, which she described as “a campaign of terror against the civilian population”.

“We express our solidarity with Ukraine, which is facing Russian attacks on Kyiv's energy infrastructure, educational facilities and residential areas. Dozens of civilian casualties have been reported, and large parts of the capital have been left without heating in the middle of winter and during the Christmas period. This is a campaign of terror against the civilian population of Ukraine and has been, from the beginning, part of Russia's brutal strategy,” Oana Țoiu said on Saturday. in an English post on the X platform.

The head of Romanian diplomacy reaffirmed support for the territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty of Ukraine.

“While leaders in the US, EU and Ukraine work for peace, Moscow responds by killing and terrorizing women, children and entire families,” she added.

Kyiv was the target of a massive ballistic missile attack overnight Friday into Saturday, with Russian forces launching several hypersonic Kinjal missiles, four Iskander ballistic missiles and a group of Kalibr cruise missiles at the Ukrainian capital, according to monitoring channels, cited by The Kyiv Independent.

Other regions of Ukraine were also attacked with missiles and drones on Saturday morning.

The attacks show that Moscow “does not want to end the war,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, according to AFP.

Zelenskiy made the statement before leaving for the United States, where he is to meet with US President Donald Trump to discuss a plan to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
