Mirabela Grădinaru, the life partner of the current president, revealed that they encouraged their children not to present their father's profession when asked by colleagues, but to describe him at most as “Nicușor Dan – the mathematician”.

One of the subjects addressed by Mirabela Grădinaru in the Saturday evening edition of the Digi24 show “La cîna” was the way in which children's lives changed after Nicușor Dan became the president of the country.

“We live there, in the same neighborhood, where we have a very beautiful community. There are 34 children up to the age of 14. We meet less often now, during the winter, because the day is shorter and when I finish work it's already dark and I have no way to take them out, but we tried as much as possible to keep our habits – this, given that, for the children's harmonious development, routine is important”, declared Mirabela Grădinaru.

She said Antim, the presidential couple's son, “had a shock” on his first day of kindergarten, given the security device that accompanied him.

“I remember that he had a shock, at least the smallest one, when I took him to kindergarten, on the first day, the security part was very… “Why are we going with this car and not with ours?”. And I say, we're going with an Uber, because I've called Uber before when I couldn't find a parking space or I was running late. “And why are there two drivers?”, said the life partner of the president Nicușor Dan.

“We keep the habits so that our children grow up, we say, as normal as possible, like other children,” she added.

“”Your father is Nicușor Dan, not the president of the country””

Asked if Aheea and Antim understood what a huge responsibility rests on their parents' shoulders, Mirabela Grădinaru said: “Yes. Nicușor has this quality of telling stories and enumerating his responsibilities, but in a very natural and easy-to-understand way even for the little one. Of course, the little one now, in this period, wants to be a policeman.”

“We encourage him, I say, what you want to become when you grow up, that's what you will become. The responsibility part they perceive more through the prism of the fact that they don't see their father, that they don't see him because they know that they have to do important and very hard things,” she continued.

Mirabela Grădinaru was then asked if Antim and Aheea say that their father is the president of Romania when they are asked what they do.

“No, no, here's what I've tried since he was mayor, and Aheea used to get… there were all kinds of comments at school, I always encouraged her to tell her colleagues, and we're also lucky to have a very good team, who understood, your father is Nicușor Dan, not the mayor of Bucharest and, in this case, not the president of the country, but Nicușor Dan, possibly, if you want a label, you can call him “Nicușor Dan – the mathematician”, Mirabela Grădinaru also declared.
