Zelenskiy confirms the meeting with Donald Trump in Florida. On Sunday there will be discussions about territories and security guarantees for Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Friday that he will meet with US President Donald Trump on Sunday to discuss the territory of Ukraine and security guarantees for Kiev, in the context of efforts to end the war in Ukraine.

“The meeting is organized specifically for the purpose of completing everything as far as possible”, Zelensky said, quoted by Reuters. The meeting was confirmed to AFP by an adviser to the Ukrainian president.
Earlier, Zelensky told reporters that the meeting is scheduled for this weekend, most likely Sunday, and will take place in Florida.
“We have a busy schedule, that's going to happen over the weekend, I think Sunday, in Florida, where we're going to have a meeting with President Trump,” said the Ukrainian leader.
According to him, the discussions will focus on “sensitive matters”, such as the fate of the Donbas region, in eastern Ukraine, and the situation of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which is under the control of Russian forces in the south of the country.
Also, the two presidents will address the topic of security guarantees that Western states could offer to Ukraine within the framework of a possible peace agreement with Russia, Zelenskiy also stated.
The Ukrainian president made public, on Wednesday, the contents of a new version of the American peace plan, negotiated for several weeks between Washington and Kiev.
The document provides for the freezing of the current front line, without offering, however, an immediate solution regarding the territories occupied by the Russian army, which represent more than 19% of the surface of Ukraine.
