There is still no ready peace plan

Russian newspaper Kommersant reported earlier on Friday that at a meeting with top Russian businessmen on December 24, Putin said he might be open to exchanging some of the territories controlled by Russian troops in Ukraine, but wanted Russia to take over the entire Donbas.

When asked about this article, Peskov said that the topic of peace talks was discussed “generally” at that meeting. He did not provide any details about what was discussed in the talks.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on Friday that he plans to meet US leader Donald Trump on Sunday, and the meeting is to cover, among others, draft peace agreement, security guarantees and the possibility of putting pressure on Moscow.
