Restless in the Polish sky. Polish fighters intercepted a Russian reconnaissance plane

Polish fighters intercepted, visually identified and escorted a Russian reconnaissance plane that was flying near the borders of the Polish airspace – the Operational Command of the Armed Forces reported on Thursday.

According to the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, at night objects were observed entering Polish airspace from the direction of Belarus. “After detailed analyses, it was found that they were most likely smuggling balloons, moving according to the direction and speed of the wind. The flight of all objects was continuously monitored by radar systems,” wrote the Operational Command of the Armed Forces.

The command added that for safety reasons, part of the airspace over the Podlaskie Voivodeship was temporarily excluded from use for civilian traffic. (PAP)
