Krasnoyarsk residents were told about the benefits of Brussels sprouts

25 December 17:10

The regional Office of Rospotrebnadzor told Krasnoyarsk residents about the beneficial properties of Brussels sprouts.

Experts reported that it strengthens the immune system and helps normalize cholesterol levels, and also prevents anemia in children and pregnant women due to easily digestible iron. Vitamin A, which is contained in Brussels sprouts, helps improve vision, and the high fiber content is good for the digestive system.

However, if you have gout, gastritis, bloating, or weakened pancreatic function, you should not eat this variety of cabbage.

When choosing Brussels sprouts, you should pay attention to the color and size of the head. Large and bright green heads of cabbage fit perfectly into the diet, but small ones can be very sweet and not to your taste.

“Keep in mind that heads of cabbage stay fresh on the stem much longer. It is best to store in a cool, dark place or in the refrigerator for no more than four days. Before washing, heads of Brussels sprouts are cut from the stem and washed in cold water. It is not recommended to cut it in advance, otherwise the cabbage will wither,” the Department gave recommendations.

Let us remind you that Krasnoyarsk residents were previously told how to choose the right tangerines for the New Year’s table.
