The Beeline operator will interrupt the call from the scammer when receiving SMS with codes from banks and “public services”

Beeline introduces a new security function aimed at protecting subscribers from fraudulent actions.

Now, if during a voice call from unknown contact the client comes with a code with a code from “public services” or banks, the operator can interrupt the current call to prevent the opening of access to money or personal data from the client.

How does this work?

• If the subscriber receives an SMS with the code during the conversation (for example, to confirm the payment, entrance or password changing on the “public services”), Beeline analyzes the number of the caller.
• Antifrod algorithms check the number of the calling and, if the system shows that the number is fraudulent or maybe such, the call will be interrupted.

The new level of protection is already available to subscribers in St. Petersburg, and from June 10 it will work for all Bilina customers. In this case, the additional fee for the function is not charged, and it works automatically, nothing needs to be connected.

In the near future, Beeline will begin the phased introduction of a similar mechanism for calls through messengers. This is an additional measure to combat social engineering, when attackers try to lure users with confirmation codes during a conversation.
