In Krasnoyarsk, construction of the Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral on Strelka has not yet begun. In February, the diocese promised to receive permission from the administration and begin work by the end of spring, but the document has not yet been issued.
According to the Department of Urban Development, in order to obtain a permit, the developer must first obtain a permit for a conditionally permitted use of the land plot. For this purpose, architectural solutions should be considered by the Krasnoyarsk Town Planning Council. A corresponding request has already been sent to the diocese, but so far the materials have not been received by the architecture department.
In addition, changes need to be made to the land surveying project. Since the cathedral is planned to be built in a river bed, in a flood zone, it is necessary to take measures for engineering protection. The project also requires provision for the removal of the street lighting network and the installation of parking lots. It is also necessary to clarify the height of the building, sinceThe chaska partly falls within the zone of the protected cultural heritage site “Steamboat “St. Nicholas”.
“The denial of issuance is a common practice; unfortunately, very often developers are not very responsible in the formation of a package of documents and the preparation of materials for obtaining a building permit. These comments have been submitted to the developer and he is working on them,” the department commented.
Construction was planned to begin in the spring in order to commission the facility by the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk, in August 2028.
