Irineu Darău, after the first day as Minister of the Economy: “I went through all the offices and met dozens of employees doing work”

The new Minister of Economy, Irineu Darău, announced that he had an intense first day of activity at the head of the institution, with numerous discussions, analyzes and operational decisions.

The minister stated that he went through all the offices of the ministry to get to know the employees and to understand the way of working in the institution.
“I reached the end of this first full day, after many hours of discussions, analyzes and operational decisions. I went through all the offices and met dozens of employees who work in the Ministry and whose help I count on”, conveyed Irineu Darău, in a message published Wednesday evening on Facebook.
The Minister of Economy stated that he bases his activity on teamwork and the professionalism of employees. He aims to create a work environment focused on fairness, motivation and performance.
“I believe a lot in the strength of the team and in the work of professionals. I am here to maintain a framework based on fairness, motivation and performance, which leads to the results people expect from us”, Darău also stated.
At the same time, he sent a holiday message to colleagues in the ministry and citizens, wishing them to celebrate the Holy Feast of the Nativity “with peace and joy, with loved ones”.
Irineu Darău, USR's proposal for the position of Minister of Economy, took the oath on Tuesday, December 23. The position became vacant after Radu Miruță was appointed Minister of Defense, following the resignation of Ionuț Moșteanu, due to the scandal related to inconsistencies in the CV.
Irineu Darău presented the plans he has for the ministry and sent a clear signal to the managers of state companies: performance will be the main criterion, and those who do not respect it will be held accountable.
