New nominations in PZU. What does the appointment of Jarosław Antonik mean for the company?

It's been a busy time at PZU lately. As we wrote in Business Insider Polska, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) approved the candidacy of Bogdan Benczak for the position of president of the company. In addition, an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the state-owned company was held, where a decision was made to hold the former head of PZU accountable.
Also in December, it was announced that the long-awaited merger of PZU and Bank Pekao would be postponed. As we wrote in Business Insider Polska, according to the new arrangements, the potential transaction is to be completed by December 31, 2027.
This is not the end of important changes, as the Minister of State Assets, Wojciech Balczun, recently announced that special proxies for settlements of their predecessors will be appointed in State Treasury companies.
“We are talking about our greatest champions. After all, the issue of Orlen or PZU, which is still on the agenda, is the subject of many materials and articles in the media. This has been our everyday life for several years.” – said the minister.
