Vitaly, with the call sign “Maloy”, left for the Northern Military District in the fall of 2022. For the last two months, Maly’s relatives have been looking for him in military units, hospitals and morgues – to no avail. The HF officially declared him missing, and his family almost lost hope. Until we saw a photo that went viral – a fighter sleeping on tangerines, hugging the Nevsky icon. The same one that Vitaly had all the time.
Recently, his photo surfaced on social networks. It turned out that Vitaly had been crawling towards his people for the last 60 days. He hardly ate and drank melted snow. When I heard the drone buzzing, I pretended to be dead or hid under the bodies of soldiers abandoned on the front line. The family does not know where he is now. They are trying to find at least some information about their loved one and continue to believe in a quick meeting and hug.
