The game started as it couldn't have been worse for AEK and Marin. The guests opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, through Eddie Salcedo.
And the first half ended as it began. Luka Jovic, the former Real Madrid striker, wasted a shot from 11 meters in extra time.
Everything would change in the second act, when AEK turned the result around. First, Croatia's Robert Ljubicic restored parity in the 54th minute, only for Jovic to score from Marin's pass in the 67th.
Răzvan found Jovic excellently in the box, and the Serbian executed Klidman Lilo without problems. Marin was an integralist, and following this success, AEK Athens finished the year in first place, with 37 points after 15 stages.
It is followed by Olympiakos, with 36, and the podium is completed by PAOK, a team coached by Răzvan Lucescu (56 years old).
Marin played 27 games this season for AEK Athens, scoring 4 times and providing 3 assists. He is quoted by the specialized website Transfermarkt at 3 million euros.
AEK will travel to Aris' ground in the first match of 2026 on January 11. The Romanian international Olimpiu Moruțan is developing for Aris.
