In Kansk, residents of a building, with the help of the prosecutor's office, achieved a recalculation of housing and communal services fees

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, residents of an apartment building were recalculated their utility bills, the department’s press service reported.

The problem for residents of a high-rise building in the Severny Kansk microdistrict arose in June 2025. Before this, from 2022, they paid the management company at the rate chosen during the general meeting, — 21.98 rubles per sq. meter. The agreement with Zhilstroy LLC stated that the conditions could only be changed by agreement of the parties, that is, at the will of the owners themselves.

“But in the summer, when they opened their June receipts, residents noticed that the numbers in the line “maintenance of living quarters” suddenly increased by 1.5 times per square meter. However, none of them made a decision to increase the tariff; at the meeting in April, the issue of changing the fee was not even discussed. The management company explained: there is a new fee approved by the city administration.», — told the prosecutor's office.

The prosecutor's office examined the documents and admitted that “new tariff» outlaw — under a valid management agreement and a tariff established by a decision of the owners, neither the administration nor the management company has the right to rewrite the conditions unilaterally.

Zhilstroy LLC received a request demanding that tariffs be returned to the previous level and recalculated. As a result, the management company had to return more than 198 thousand rubles to the homeowners, and the municipality canceled the illegal legal act.
