Drone with a parachute attached to it, found crashed in a forest in Argeş County. The authorities are on alert

The drone was found on Sunday by a man who was on a hunting trip, in Lereşti commune, Argeș county. He alerted the authorities, who isolated the area and are conducting checks to determine how the aircraft got there and where it came from.

“Today, December 21, 2025, at around 10:40 a.m., the Câmpulung Municipality Police was notified by phone by a 49-year-old man from Lereşti commune, Argeş county, participating in an organized hunt, regarding the fact that, in a wooded area on Mount Strâmtu, Lereşti commune, a possible drone-type flying object had been identified, collapsed among the trees”, reported the Arges County Police.

The drone found is about two meters wide. The device has a parachute attached and is intact, judicial sources told News.ro.

According to Antena3, the drone would be part of the reconnaissance category, not armed.

Area where the drone was found:

A police crew immediately went to the indicated area and demarcated the area where the aircraft is located, the measure being taken to prevent any risks to people or property.

According to the IPJ Argeș, the competent institutions were informed, according to the legal powers, for carrying out specific investigations and establishing the nature of the object, as well as the circumstances in which it arrived in the respective area.
