In this context, the President of Ukraine recalled the meeting in Turkey, after which there was an exchange of prisoners of war and civilians. — It's not much of what we wanted, but it's very important. I'm very happy that the exchanges took place. (…) That is why such steps must be taken, he explained.
— If such a meeting can now take place that will unblock exchanges, or if the result of the trilateral meeting of security advisers can be an agreement on a trilateral meeting of leaders… I have said this many times, there are difficult issues that must be resolved by state leaders. So, if there are results in the form of exchanges or some other arrangements, I cannot be against it. Then we support the United States' proposal. Another round of talks in Florida. The US Secretary of State may join the negotiations
US representatives are scheduled to meet with the Russian delegation in Florida on Saturday. In addition to US Presidential advisers Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio may take part in the talks, Reuters reports. The Russian delegation will be led by Kirill Dmitriev, who announced his trip on social media.
On Friday, the American delegation held talks in Florida with the Ukrainian side, represented by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rust Umerov, and Chief of the Ukrainian General Staff, Andriy Hnatov. Security advisers from Germany, France and Great Britain also participated in the discussion, Axios reported.
The talks take place shortly after the Berlin summit, where European leaders announced that the US and Europe had committed to working together to provide Ukraine with security guarantees in the event of an end to the war.
