Ukrainian attack in the Mediterranean Sea. Russian tanker damaged

The Russian tanker was not carrying any cargo and, according to SBU sources, the attack did not pose a threat to the natural environment in the region.

“The enemy must understand that Ukraine will not stop and will beat him in every part of the world, wherever he is,” emphasizes a source in the SBU.

The so-called the shadow fleet is usually worn-out ships transporting Russian crude oil, which the Kremlin then sells at prices higher than those imposed by sanctions imposed on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. Tankers are also often used to transport Russian military equipment or stolen Ukrainian grain and cultural goods.

Russian oppositionist Aleksandr Nevzorov claims that on board the ship was Russian intelligence general Andrei Averyanov, who is considered the leading commander responsible for acts of sabotage in Europe. His name was among those responsible for the poisoning of Sergei Skripal.

Sergei Skripal is one of the most experienced Soviet and Russian intelligence officers. However, in the 1980s, he was recruited by the British in Spain. In 2004, his double play was discovered, leading to his arrest. In 2010, he left Russia as part of a spy exchange. However, the Kremlin did not forgive him for his betrayal. In 2018, he and his daughter Julia were poisoned with Novichok. Thanks to quick medical help, they narrowly avoided death.
