President Vladimir Putin said that the increase in recycling fees applies to expensive cars and citizens with average incomes in large cities.
The increase in the fee was initiated by the Ministry of Finance to provide additional income for technological development, but indirectly supports the domestic auto industry.
Putin noted that given the rising cost of cars, the choice of a domestic car is becoming more reasonable, and emphasized that he considers it advisable to give preference to products of the Russian automobile industry, adding that it would be strange to advise purchasing foreign cars.
The direct line with the president in 2025 is combined with a press conference for the media. The format, called “Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin,” allows the head of state to convey his position not only on citizens’ issues, but also on the state and world agenda, which journalists often ask about.
