Trump Urges Ukraine. “There's a chance we can sort this out.”

— Well, they're getting close to something, but I hope Ukraine moves quickly, I hope they move quickly because Russia is already there. And you know, every time Ukrainians wait too long, Russia changes its mind, the US president said at the signing ceremony of the regulation liberalizing marijuana regulations.

Trump once again admitted that he thought ending the war would be easier. He pointed to the “animosity and hatred” between the parties to the conflict as the source of the difficulties.

“But there's a chance we'll get it sorted, maybe soon. Remember that 25-30 thousand people are killed there every month, (these are) young people, he noted.

More talks in Florida. Separate with Ukraine, separate with Russia

As Ukraine's ambassador to the US, Olha Stefanishyna, announced on Thursday, representatives of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov and Andriy Hnatov, will hold bilateral talks with the American side in Florida on Thursday and Friday.

The Politico website reported on Wednesday that the US and Russian delegations will meet this weekend in Miami as part of talks on ending the war in Ukraine. The Russian delegation is to include Kirill Dmitriev, Vladimir Putin's envoy, and the American side will be represented by Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

American officials already announced on Monday that talks may take place in Miami, suggesting that they will be talks with Ukrainians at the working and military level, regarding the details of territorial issues and security guarantees.

The meetings take place after Monday's negotiations in Berlin. American envoys announced afterwards that they had agreed on strong security guarantees for Ukraine and assured that they were able to convince Moscow to accept them. According to their reports, European interlocutors expressed surprise at these assurances.

Moscow shows no signs of changing its current tough stance. On Wednesday, Putin announced that Russia would not give up its mission to “liberate its historic lands” and that it could do so either through negotiations or by force.
