“We build, we don't talk. Investments related to Port Polska have gained unprecedented momentum. Property purchases, demolitions and the first preparatory works have been ongoing for months on the site of the future airport. Now we are submitting applications for building permits and we are ready to break ground,” says Maciej Lasek, government plenipotentiary for the Central Communication Port.
Construction of the CPK. Investment details
The area of the facility will be approximately 450,000 m2. square meters — this is almost three times more than the currently largest terminal of Chopin Airport in Poland. The main building will be connected to piers, which will take passengers directly to the planes. On the opening day, 72 passenger airports are to be ready (almost three times more than Chopin Airport currently has) and approximately 140 ticket and baggage check-in counters.
One of the most important applications for building permits concerns the so-called piling under the terminal buildingi.e. the first stage of building its foundations. Their purpose is to transfer the loads of the structure to deeper, load-bearing layers of the earth.

“In the first phase, we plan to drive over 8,100 piles with a length of between 9 and 30 m each. The tender for this scope will be announced in the coming days, and the signing of the contract and commencement of works is planned for 2026. Their completion is expected to take place by the end of 2027.” — emphasizes the president of the Central Communication Port, Dr. Filip Czernicki.
Construction of the CPK. A railway and bus station will be built
The 19 applications also included one regarding a permit for the construction of a railway station. The station will have 6 platforms, 400 m long, which will serve 12 tracks. At the height of the station, the tunnel will be as much as 166 m wide, while at the entrances it will be approximately 45 m wide.
It is to be located at a maximum depth of 17 m (from the track level to the ground). More than 2 million cubic meters will be used for its construction. concrete. The railway station hall will be connected to the transfer hub, airport terminal and bus station.
The submitted documentation also included an application for a construction permit for a bus station. According to the plans, it is to consist of the so-called bus pier with a hall for passengers, northern and southern platforms and northern and southern loops. The hall for passengers using buses will be directly connected to the so-called the building of the transfer center constituting an integral part of the railway station.
Construction of the CPK. Other building permits
Other applications concern the facilities of the airport rescue and fire-fighting service, consisting of two fire stations: the main one and the satellite one. The priority adopted in this project was to ensure the possibility of departure of rescue and fire-fighting vehicles with a full staff of firefighters from the combat subunit as soon as possible from the announcement of the alarm, while maintaining the necessary safety conditions.
The watchtowers will be intended in particular to protect runways and ground areas of air traffic, as well as to ensure the rapid renewal of combat readiness of units carrying out rescue and fire-fighting tasks.
The new airport will be opened for passenger use in 2032, together with the first section of the High-Speed Railway connecting Warsaw with Łódź. Three years later, further HSR connections will be ready, creating the so-called “Y”, i.e. routes to Wrocław and Poznań.
