Satellite photos have shown that activity is ongoing at the Iranian uranium enrichment plant, bombed in June this year, the Iran International website reported on Friday. This may mean that Tehran is trying to recover its supplies of highly enriched uranium.

The portal, citing analyzes by the American think tank Institute of Science and International Security (ISIS), reported that satellite photos taken last weekend show activity in one of the key facilities of the Iranian nuclear program in Natanz.

“Satellite images from December 13, 2025 show that Iran has placed panels closing the damaged anti-drone structure, thereby providing cover to the destroyed facility,” Iran International explained. This suggests that Iran may be trying to gain access to the remains of the facility while concealing its activities from outside observation.

“This means that Iran wants to examine the facility away from prying eyes,” the think tank noted.

During the 12-day campaign in June this year. Israel and then the US bombed key facilities of the Iranian nuclear program in Fordo, Parchin, Isfahan and Natanz. The effects of the bombing remain unclear.

Iran has long been accused by Western countries of seeking to develop nuclear weapons. Tehran denied it, arguing that its goal was solely the civilian use of nuclear energy, but at the same time it was intensively enriching uranium to levels that could not be used for peaceful purposes.

According to the UN, Iran has about 440 kg of uranium enriched to 60 percent, which – after enrichment to 90 percent. – would allow for the construction of eight to ten nuclear bombs. According to the 2015 agreement, the level of uranium enrichment in the Iranian nuclear program cannot exceed 3.67%.

In October, an American think tank raised the alarm about ongoing construction works also taking place in Parczin. (PAP)
