A new demonstration tonight for justice reform, in Bucharest and in other cities in the country / Time and place where they start

The “Corruption kills” organization announces that Friday evening protests are being organized in the Victoriei Square in the Capital, as well as in seven other cities in the country. It will be the seventh demonstration for justice reform, provoked after the publication, on December 9, of the Recorder documentary “Captured Justice”.
The protests began on December 10, a day after the publication of the Recorder documentary about the state of justice in Romania and the phenomenon of prescriptions.
In cold winter weather, thousands of people protested for five consecutive days, from Wednesday to Sunday, December 10-14, in Bucharest and other cities, and on Wednesday evening, December 17, the sixth demonstration took place in Victoriei Square.
Tonight, December 19, protests are announced in Bucharest, but also in Cluj, Iasi, Oradea, Timișoara, Brașov, Sibiu, Arad.
The schedule and location where they take place are as follows:
- Bucharest – Piața Victoriei, 6.30 p.m
- Cluj – Court of Appeal, 6:30 p.m
- Iași – Palatul Culturii Square, 7:00 p.m
- Oradea – Traian Park, 6.30 p.m
- Timișoara – Piața Ţarcului, near the Dicasterial Palace, 6:00 p.m
- Brașov – Brașov Prefecture, 18.00
- Sibiu – Huet Square, 7 p.m
- Arad – Eminescu Park, 19.00
The demonstrators demand a reform of the justice system, the revocation of Lia Savonea, the dismissal of the DNA leadership, the dismissal of Cătălin Predoiu, the minister in whose mandate at Justice the facts reported by the Recorder happened, the review of the powers of the CSM and the legislative elimination of the “gateways” that allow criminal trials to be postponed until the statute of limitations.
Meanwhile, President Nicușor Dan invited the magistrates who want to report integrity issues in the justice system to a discussion “without time limit” at the Cotroceni Palace, on December 22.
The head of state asked to be presented with documents – assumed or not – that document the problems in the judiciary and promised to study the papers together with his advisors until the time of the meeting.
