The barrier closed. There is a regulation on closing the border with Belarus

The Minister of the Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński signed a regulation on Wednesday on the temporary suspension of border traffic at transitions with Belarus. The closure of border crossings will become effective from the north of September 12 this year. until further notice – the resort said.

This decision is the government's response to the planned Russian-Belarusian military maneuvers “Zapad 2025”.

The purpose of suspension of border traffic at border crossings with Belarus is to protect the security of the Polish border, which is also the external border of the European Union.

– We close the borders with Belarus due to the threat resulting from the maneuvers. Services subordinate to the Ministry of Interior and Administration and the army are in the highest readiness. This decision is temporary. The safety of Polish women and Poles is a priority for us. We will open the transitions when we are sure that the situation does not pose any threat to us – said Kierwiński. (PAP)
