During his visit to the Incirlik air base near Adana, where Polish soldiers are stationed, the Minister of Defense noted that each of the Polish contingents performs an important mission towards our allies.

– I would like to confirm all allied obligations arising from the North Atlantic Treaty, resulting from our membership in the North Atlantic Alliance and NATO – said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.

As he emphasized, “Poland will fulfill all its obligations, including Article 5.”

– If necessary, we will support those whose security, existence, sovereignty and independence will be threatened. At the same time, we hope that NATO, as an alliance of solidarity for peace and security, will always respond in the same way if Poland needs this help, said Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense reminded that PMC Turkey has been operating since 2021, performing patrol flights in the Mediterranean Sea, but since October this year the contingent has acquired new capabilities to operate Bayraktar TB2 unmanned vehicles.

He also thanked the Turkish side for helping during the flood in 2024 – Türkiye was one of the first allies to help Poland.

NEC Türkiye was launched at the beginning of May 2021 and is Poland's response to Turkey's appeal to NATO allies for support due to the deterioration of the security situation in the region. 75 soldiers of the 12th Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Base and the 10th Logistics Brigade are stationed at the Incirlik air base.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense also wished Polish soldiers a Merry Christmas.

On Monday, Kosiniak-Kamysz will meet with Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler. During the meeting, an agreement on Polish-Turkish cooperation will be signed. At the same time, talks will be held between representatives of the Polish arms industry and Turkish companies. (PAP)
