Former international great Gabi Balint believes that Rapid should have received a penalty in the match with Steellost by Giulești 0-2 in stage #20 of the Superliga.

In the 65th minute, at 1-0 for Galați, Koljic fell in the box after being blocked from behind. Referee Cristian Moldoveanu did not award a kick from 11 meters, and the fast players seriously accused the refereeing after the match.

Not only Costel Gâlcă and Victor Angelescu were vocal, but also the fans in the stadium, who shouted “thief” to Moldoveanu immediately after the final whistle.

Gabi Balint: “I think it's a foul on Koljic”

Gabi Balint analyzed the phase with Koljic in the foreground and believes that Rapid should have received a penalty.

“I saw it from the first! It looks like a foul to me, the player goes to him (no – Koljic) from the first. It's a penalty if there's a foul in the box. You can see it, I saw it even without a magnifying glass”said Gabi Balint, according to digisport.ro.

I don't take away from the credit of the opponent, but for me there are clear penalties: both to Koljic and to Kramer. Why do we still have VAR? I am concerned about the refereeing in the latter stages. When I came home we never talked about the referees, but on home ground it's a different type of refereeing. For some, VAR judges differently. I'm curious when we'll get a penalty too.

– Costel Gâlcă, coach Rapid

I think we have a clear penalty before the phase with Koljic. At Koljic and at Kramer, it looks like a penalty to me. Outside of these phases, the refereeing was execrable! You can tell when he wants something. From the 2nd minute to the end, he frustrated both teams, us the most. He made questionable decisions.

– Victor Angelescu, president and Rapid shareholder
