Woman from Romania, found by the police 17 years after she was reported missing / Where was she all this time

A woman from Neamţ county, reported missing 17 years ago by her family, was found by the border police from Timisoara. The woman had settled in Italy and the first time she came to the country she appeared in the Police applications as a wanted person.
“A shocking story, but with a happy ending, took shape around the winter holidays. A woman from Piatra-Neamţ, reported missing 17 years ago, was identified the other day by the border police from Timişoara, following a long and meticulous search carried out by the police of the Neamţ Criminal Investigation Service”, the representatives of the IPJ Neamţ reported on Saturday.
According to them, the woman disappeared in 2009, when her daughter was only 14 years old. Since then, the police have carried out checks throughout the country, as well as in several states in the European Union.
The woman was spotted on December 9. The investigation established that she had settled in Italy, after leaving her hometown, and the first time she entered the country she appeared in the Police applications as a wanted person.
“The reunion between mother and daughter, more than a decade and a half apart, remains one of the most emotional stories of this end of the year – a real Christmas miracle, made possible thanks to the uninterrupted work of the police and the hope that was not lost for a moment,” the police said.
