The Hungarian minister recalled the words of the head of NATO. “Common sense has disappeared”

“If anyone had any doubts that common sense had completely disappeared in Brussels, yesterday's speech by the NATO Secretary General in Berlin should have convinced them. Mark Rutte has made some reckless statementssaying, among other things, that we are Russia's next target, that Russia may be ready to attack NATO within five years and that Ukraine's security is our security,” wrote the head of Hungarian diplomacy.

Szijjarto added that the NATO Secretary General “has never made such claims before.” “This complete change of position is a clear signal that everyone in Brussels opposes Donald Trump's peace efforts. With these statements, Mark Rutte has effectively stabbed the peace negotiations in the back,” the politician said.
He emphasized that Hungary, as a NATO member, firmly rejects these claims. “The security of European countries is guaranteed not by Ukraine, but by NATO itself. Ukraine is fighting for its own security, not ours. Such provocative statements are irresponsible and dangerous. I call on Mark Rutte to immediately stop stoking war tensions!” – Szijjarto appealed.
The head of NATO warned against Russia
During Thursday's visit to Germany Rutte called on NATO allies to intensify their efforts, to prevent war which could “take on a scale comparable to that experienced by our grandparents and great-grandparents.”
“Too many people do not realize the urgency of the moment, and too many believe that time is on our side; we need to act now” – said the Secretary General of NATO. He added that “we are Russia's next target” and “the conflict is at our door”. He estimated that Russia may be ready to use military force against NATO within five years.
The NATO head also emphasized that US President Donald Trump is the only leader who can force Vladimir Putin to negotiate. He considered continuing support for Ukraine to be a key task and warned that an unfavorable end to the war in Ukraine for the Alliance would mean armaments expenses incomparably higher than the current ones.
