In Russia, a rapid increase in infections with aggressive influenza type A has been recorded. reported Baza.

“Even vaccination is not always effective against a powerful mutated virus. The illness has already been nicknamed “five-day” – that’s how long the disease lasts, crushing with high fever,” the publication says.

According to the telegram channel, all patients have a consistently high temperature in the range of 38-40 degrees, severe body pain, which is difficult to control with medications. Vomiting, diarrhea, nasal congestion and cough are also observed.

“The disease kills adults instantly – in about a couple of hours, and “covers” children in 15-30 minutes: lethargy suddenly appears, the eyes turn red, the body begins to ache,” added Baza.

The publication noted that the greatest increase in infections was recorded among children from two to five years old. At risk are patients with comorbid diagnoses, diabetes mellitus, as well as people on immunosuppressive therapy.

The publication states that influenza is especially dangerous for older people due to possible complications, including pneumonia, which can be fatal.

The day before, Rospotrebnadzor reported that over 23.4 thousand cases of influenza were registered in Russia over the week, which is 1.7 times more than the week before; the Hong Kong strain dominates. According to Rospotrebnadzor, the incidence of respiratory infections corresponds to seasonal levels, while the increase in the incidence of ARVI and influenza continues.
