The driver who hit several cars in District 4 and fled the scene surrendered. What sanctions was chosen?

The Capital's Road Brigade announces that it has identified the driver who, in November, caused several accidents on Vârciorova Street in Sector 4 and left the scene. The man voluntarily came to the office of the Minor Accidents Office.

On November 20, at around 8:40 p.m., the 38-year-old man damaged four parked vehicles, after not properly securing himself when leaving the scene. Instead of stopping, he continued his journey towards Drumul Jilavei, where, at the intersection with Turnu Măgurele street, he collided with a bus that was traveling regularly, according to DGPMB.

“The owners of the vehicles involved went to the Minor Accidents Bureau, in order to draw up the verification documents. The policemen from the Minor Accidents Bureau carried out investigations to establish the causes and circumstances of the road accident, to establish the identity of the driver who left the scene and to take the necessary measures”, sent the Road Brigade of the DGPMB.

After almost three weeks of searching, the driver appeared on Tuesday, December 9, at the headquarters of the Minor Accidents Bureau, where he was questioned. After checking the vehicle, the police found that the car was not in proper technical condition.

The man refused preliminary testing with the devices provided, which is why he was taken to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine “Mina Minovici” for taking biological samples.

Additional measures will be ordered depending on the results of toxicological analyses.

The police imposed a fine of 5,062.5 lei, ordered the suspension of the right to drive for 120 days, awarded 3 penalty points and withheld the vehicle's registration certificate.
