The head of the Kansk municipal district, Konstantin Kovalev, monitored the switching of the Stroiteley village to the power of the Kanskaya CHPP.

During a visit to thermal power facilities, he also discussed with the station director Viktor Vladimirov and the head of the Kansk heating network Dmitry Sorokin (both enterprises are branches of the Yenisei TGC, a division of the Siberian Generating Company in the Yenisei Siberia region) issues of providing thermal energy to promising city facilities.

The head of the district visited the new central heating station (CHS) in the village of Stroiteley, which the Kanskaya Heating Network built to replace the inefficient local boiler house at the capacity of the Kanskaya CHPP. The central heating station is equipped with five pumps to maintain thermal energy parameters, is fully automated and can be controlled remotely by a dispatcher. SGK introduced a similar facility in 2022 to replace the boiler house at the BCP.

In addition, power engineers completed the construction of a new heating main 6.2 km long. Now 34 residential buildings and 4 social facilities, which previously received heat and hot water from the boiler house of the Stroiteley village, are provided with resources from the Kanskaya Thermal Power Plant. The first frosts that arrived at the end of November confirmed the reliability of the new equipment, which functioned without failures, and the transition to a new heat source was almost unnoticeable for residents.

Afterwards, Konstantin Kovalev visited the Kanskaya Thermal Power Plant itself. The main heat source of the city produces two types of energy – thermal and electrical. Due to cogeneration, each ton of fuel is used more efficiently than in boiler houses. The station regularly carries out repairs and develops production equipment – this year, in preparation for winter, 6 boilers and 3 turbines were repaired. The total cost of the repair campaign amounted to 105 million rubles. Back in September, KTPP received a passport of readiness for autumn-winter loads.

“Since 2020, we, in partnership with SGC, have been updating the city’s heat supply system. The company is investing about 2 billion rubles in this project until 2029, and today we see that two thirds of these investments are aimed at implementing activities. This year, a large amount of work has been done to replace heating networks and modernize equipment. There is still a lot of work to be done, but the city is already going through the winter quite calmly. Taking into account the reserves of the Kanskaya CHPP, we are confident that new facilities will also be provided with heat,” said the head of the Kansk district, Konstantin Kovalev.

The municipality’s plans include the construction of a 90-apartment building in 2026, the reconstruction of school No. 7 and the construction of a kindergarten, which will also require thermal energy. To develop the city and strengthen the reliability of heat supply, SGK has been actively updating the energy infrastructure in Kansk over the past five years. Since the start of the program, about 50 km of heating networks have been built and repaired, of which 3 km were updated this year. Key facilities are being reconstructed and inefficient boiler houses are being replaced – modern automated block-modular complexes are installed in their place.

“The program for modernizing the Kansk heat supply system is not only repairs and construction of new facilities, it is a qualitatively different approach to heat supply to the city. From gust repairs, we moved on to system planning and building hydraulic regimes. And as a result, this year residents did not notice the transition from one heat source to another,” emphasized Dmitry Sorokin, director of the Kansk Heating Network.

In addition to the boiler house in the village of Stroiteley, two more were replaced at the capacity of the Kanskaya Thermal Power Plant. The total number of small generation facilities that have been closed or undergone renovation in Kansk is 11. Next in line are 4 more boiler houses, which will undergo global modernization in 2026. And one object that is being prepared for replacement. Such a large-scale program was made possible by creating opportunities for investment in the heating system. SGC leaders also emphasized the changes that have occurred.

“Every year the Kanskaya CHPP confirms its reliability as an energy facility. The station is one of the first among SGC enterprises to receive a certificate of readiness for winter. And this year is no exception. Repair of boilers and turbines, close cooperation with the Kansk Heating Network, as well as the introduction of new technologies allow us to increase efficiency and ensure comfort and safety for all residents of Kansk in winter,” said Viktor Vladimirov, director of the Kanskaya CHPP.
