Two new natural monuments will appear in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

This year, new natural monuments will appear in the Shushensky municipal district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory – “Oyskie Cliffs” and “Blue Stone”. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry of the region.
The status of a specially protected natural area will allow for the preservation of the taiga and unique ecosystems, ancient rocks with sedimentary deposits that are more than 300 million years old, as well as an archaeological site with ancient rock paintings.
On the territory of the “Oya Cliffs” there are picturesque rock outcrops along the right bank of the Oya River with steep and stepped walls. Unique areas of real and petrophytic steppes have been preserved here; there is an archaeological monument “Kazantsevskaya Pisanitsa” with ancient rock paintings. The age of the petroglyphs is 5-12 thousand years. Rare and endangered species of animals and plants will be protected.
The main object of protection in the Blue Stone protected area will be an integral landscape complex, which serves as a habitat for a rich world of animals and plants. There are also picturesque rock outcrops along the right bank of the mouth of the Orlovka River.
Note that in total in the Krasnoyarsk TerritoryThere are 120 specially protected natural areas: 42 reserves, 70 natural monuments, 6 micro-reserves and 2 natural parks with a total area of more than 3.2 million hectares.
