According to journalists, US President Donald Trump is in first place in terms of influence.
“This year, no one has had a greater impact on Europe than the US President,” the material says.
The publication wrote that “the most unpredictable and despotic US president in modern history could turn the continent upside down overnight.”
The leaders of the rating, according to Politico, were also:
- the second is Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. The publication writes that “We all live in Frederiksen Europe, we just don’t know about it yet”;
- the third is German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, “the man who broke post-war taboos in Germany”;
- the fourth is the ex-leader of the French far-right party National Rally (RN) Marine Le Pen, who is “ready for one of her legendary comebacks”;
- the fifth is the illegitimate president of the aggressor country Russia, Vladimir Putin, whom the media called a “provocateur” for his war against Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was also included in the rating, he is in 14th place.
The publication calls Zelensky “a joker in the deck” who “can only hope that his year will end better than it began.”
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was placed in seventh place, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in 10th, French President Emmanuel Macron in 19th.
Pope Leo XIV was not included in the list.
