The Angarsk maniac Mikhail Popkov was sentenced to burn a woman in the park. This is the 87th proven murder.

The crime was committed in May 2011: Popkov killed an unfamiliar woman, inflicting several blows with an ax on the head. After that, he doused his body with combustible fluid, set fire to it and disappeared from the scene of the crime, reports IA IrkutskMedia With reference to the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor's Office in the Irkutsk Region

The court sentenced him to 9 years and 6 months of a special regime colony, which will be attached to two lifelong terms.

Before trial Popkov admitted to the murder of two more women whose bodies were found in 2008. At least 90 crimes are on his account – 87 murders and 3 assassination attempts.

Recall that a former police officer Mikhail Popkov was sentenced to two lifelong conclusions for a series of murders of women from 1992 and 2011. The maniac mainly operated on the territory of Angarsk and Irkutsk.

We add, on the eve of another Russian maniac, Alexander Pichushkin, they refused to transfer to another prison from the “polar owl” in the village of Harp. The basis for the claim was “the presence of medical contraindications for further serving a sentence in the Far North,” writes Yamal 1.
