Almost 1,200 stray dogs have been caught in Krasnoyarsk since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of 2025, 1,169 stray dogs have been caught in Krasnoyarsk. This is 175 animals more than in the same period last year. The catching teams are working in an intensive mode, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport reported.

There have been 86 reports of packs of dogs in the past week. All requests were processed by specialists within 24 hours. The dogs are caught humanely and taken to a holding facility where they are examined by a veterinarian.

If an animal is diagnosed with unmotivated aggression, it is kept in a shelter for life. The remaining dogs are sterilized, medicated, kept for 10 days and released back onto the street with a tag on their ear. Since the beginning of the year, 483 dogs have been released in this way. According to experts, sterilized animals, by occupying territory, prevent the emergence of new flocks.

Several addresses in the city are under special control due to regular complaints about aggressive behavior of dogs, including near school No. 158 on Skladskaya Street and on Sudostroitelnaya Street. These places are checked regularly. The authorities have also intensified the fight against illegal kennels and feeding areas that contribute to the formation of flocks.
