The tense situation continues at Liverpool. Mohamed Salah (33 years old) would have been excluded from the “cormorants” squad for Tuesday night's match with Inter Milan from the Champions League, according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Arne Slot is set to leave the Egyptian striker out of Liverpool's squad for the match against the Italian club in response to an explosive interview he gave after the 3-3 draw with Leeds United.

Rumors: Salah does not make the trip to Milan

Following the match with Leeds in which the “Cormorants” drew 3-3, Salah declared that “someone no longer wants him at the club” and that he “is no longer in contact with coach Arne Slot”. He also announced the possibility of leaving the team, but still showed up for training on Monday morning ahead of the Champions League match with Inter Milan.

According to French journalist Fabrice Hawkins, both Slot and the Liverpool board decided that Salah would not be part of the squad for the match against Inter and would not travel to Italy.

“Mohamed Salah will not travel with the rest of Liverpool's players to the match against Inter, which is played in Milan on Tuesday, in the Champions League. This is the decision of the management of the club at Anfield taken together with the coach Arne Slot, all after a series of accusations that the Egyptian brought after the duel with Leeds, played on Saturday”, the post of the journalist states.

  • Slot himself has yet to comment on Salah's interview on Saturday, but is expected to do so on Monday afternoon at his press conference ahead of the Champions League game.

The situation is very tense between the Egyptian star and the Dutch coach. Salah has been left on the bench for Liverpool's last three games and the comments at the end of the Leeds game appear to have been the defining moment in the relationship between the two. Despite rumors that he would not make the trip to Milan, the Egyptian trained on Monday morning.
