Ciprian Ciucu announces what will happen to Jessy, the cat-mascot of the Sector 6 City Hall, after his move to PMB

Ciprian Ciucu, the new general mayor of the Capital, clarified on Monday the fate of Jessy, the cat who became the unofficial mascot of the Sector 6 City Hall and a star on social networks. The mayor specified that the feline will not accompany him to Bucharest City Hall, but will remain in the environment to which he has become accustomed.

“It's not good for cats to change places, to change houses, and for her, who has access to the town hall yard, it wouldn't be very good if she moved her house. We'll probably find another cat. There are many small and parentless cats, abandoned.” said Ciucu.

Jessy's story became known after Ciprian Ciucu reported, in an interview for TVR Info, that his official campaign photo was chosen by supporters, and the preferred version was the one in which he appears with Jessy in his arms.

Jessy was found in a precarious condition in the stairwell of a block of flats and was later adopted and cared for by the employees of the District 6 City Hall. Since then, her life has completely transformed: she has become “The Boss”, “Soul”, “Queen of the Town Hall”. Now, Jessy has been at the City Hall for almost a year and a half.

From street cat to “office colleague”

Ciprian Ciucu took her to the vet for treatments, worming and sterilization, then brought her to the town hall.

“Now she's my office colleague. She attends meetings, including those of the Local Council, she's only eyes and ears. However, her favorite “sport” is sleeping on chairs. Once she sits on a chair, it's impossible to get her off, you'd better sit somewhere else.” the Ciucu story for Pets&Cats, in January 2025.

A day in the life of Jessy, the Town Hall cat

Employees report that Jessy walks into any office with a self-assurance worthy of one “boss”, she is pampered by everyone and gets cuddles, walks in the halls and sleeps where she likes.

Occasionally, it goes out into the town hall yard and then comes back inside. However, “home” remains the mayor's office, where she has her corner with water, food and her favorite sofa. Although Ciprian Ciucu is leaving for the Capital City Hall, Jessy will continue her quiet life in Sector 6.
