The European Commission lost access to its advertising account in X after fining this social network

The fact that the EC imposed a fine on X in the amount of €120 million became known on December 5. Regulators cited three main problems: the paid blue badge misled users, the company blocked researchers' access to data, and failed to maintain a proper advertising registry.

“Your ad account has been permanently closed,” Beer wrote.

In his post, he accused the EC of trying to increase the reach of his message through the Ad Composer tool and “publishing a link that misleads users into thinking it is a video.”

“The irony of your statement. […] X believes everyone should have a voice on our platform. However, it seems that you believe that the rules should not apply to your account,” said a representative of the social network.
