Another failure of BLIK and PKO BP in Poland. An avalanche of reports

Downdetector has seen a marked increase in the number of unavailability reports, with the reporting curve rising rapidly, indicating the widespread nature of the disruption. Commentators emphasized that problems began to appear in various banks at the same time, which suggested that the source of the failure may have been on the operator's side.

The inconvenience immediately affected users' daily transactions. On social media complaints began to appear regarding the inability to approve payments, blocking transactions in online stores or the inability to make transfers to the phone. Some people pointed out that the system does not generate BLIK codes at all, and banking applications report errors on the operator's side.
BLIK emergency series from 2025
Today's problems are not an isolated event. Over the last several months, BLIK has suffered from several serious failures. The most severe burst occurred in early November 2025, when users on November 1 noted major difficulties in generating codes and making transfers to the phone. The operator almost immediately associated this incident with an external DDoS attack.

Just two days later, on November 3, another outage occurred – also determined to be the result of a DDoS attack. Then the problems persisted for several hours, and users pointed out the instability of the entire system. In the financial industry those events sparked a wide discussion about resistance of Polish payment systems to cyberattacks and the need to increase investments in IT security. The situation in BLIK and PKO BP is gradually returning to normal
On Saturday, users also reported problems on the official BLIK profile on Facebook. The operator replied that it was working to restore full availability. After 3.30 p.m. it was reported that the situation was starting to stabilize and most services were slowly returning to normal operation. Data from Downdetector also indicated that at approximately 15, the number of reports began to gradually decrease.

Although the failure caused a lot of difficulties for users, there are many indications that it was shorter and less severe than those at the end of 2025. However, subsequent incidents raise questions about the reliability of the most popular mobile payment system in Poland and whether the operator will introduce additional security measures to avoid similar problems in the future.
