A man who was sleeping was woken up in time by his dog and managed to escape the flames that engulfed his apartment in the north of Germany, the police announced on Saturday, reports the DPA agency, taken over by Agerpres.
Thanks to his pet, the 44-year-old man managed to save himself from the apartment on the top floor of a building in Moormerland, in the state of Lower Saxony.
He was transported to the hospital following a suspicion of smoke poisoning.
The fire was allegedly caused by a malfunction, the damage being estimated at approximately 15,000 euros.
