Krasnoyarsk residents were told and shown what the main New Year's town will be like

Sketches were approved in Krasnoyarsk New Year's town in Tatyshev Park. Ice figures and slides will be made in the concept of the Winter Yar celebration, the design will be based on traditional Russian motifs with elements of folk ornaments, and Krasnoyarsk residents will also see the main symbols of the city in ice performance.

As the mayor's office said, the theme of the celebration allowed the sketch artists to use a wide variety of elements of the Russian style: balalaika, matryoshka, heroes of Russian folk tales. Traditionally, guests will be greeted at the site by Father Frost and the Snow Maiden, as well as the main inhabitants of Tatyshev Island – gophers.

The features and uniqueness of the ice town will be added by a sculpture depicting the natural rocks of the Krasnoyarsk Pillars National Park and the Chapel of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa. And for memorable photographs, artists will create a sculpture in the form of a carousel with rocking horses from childhood memories.

All compositions will be illuminated with special LED strips, and the main New Year tree will sparkle with bright illumination.

“There are ice slides and attractions for young Krasnoyarsk residents; this year there are five of them: three large, more than three meters high, and two medium-sized. Eight mini-slides will be prepared for the youngest visitors, which will be included in the corner ice compositions. They didn’t forget about the traditional entertainment for the children – the “Bowl” attraction. All ice slides are certified in accordance with the state mandatory standard; operators will work at each attraction – they will ensure safety and monitor the technical condition of the slides“, — said Tatyshev Park director Mikhail Kovtunov.

Now specialists are installing the metal frame of the Christmas tree and artificial branches. Contractors have already delivered ice blocks and have begun installing the slopes of the future slides. The work must be completed no later than December 22.​​
