The rivalry between Romania and Hungary is one of the biggest in women's handball. The “Tricolore” haven't felt the taste of victory since 2019, during which they lost 5 times. They lost at Euro 2024, they were also defeated at this year's World Cup.
Katrin Klujber, unstoppable in disputes with Romania
Each time, the top scorer was Katrin Klujber. The Hungarian right winger, registered with Ferencvaros, scored 10 times in Debrecen and 7 times in Rotterdam Ahoy. He did not hide the satisfaction offered by these successes.
“This is how a match starts! At halftime, we discussed among ourselves, we said that we are not allowed to let the game slip away. After a Hungary-Romania duel, we celebrate double! It's always nice to win against them.” said Katrin Klujber, at the end of the game, according to M4Sport.

Hungary coach Vladimir Golovin believes that the difference was primarily made by the mental strength of his students:
In the first half, except for the last 10 minutes, everything went according to plan. The system screeched, a few blurry moments. Romania came over us, we played slower, we were not so vertical. We also had a few eliminations, they came back into the game.
The important thing is that I was better than Romania from a physical and mental point of view. At one point, Romania had 3 consecutive attacks to equalize. We escaped, scored twice, calmed down and managed to win
